Who we are

Appobile Labs Pvt. Ltd. (“Appobile Labs”, “we”, “us”) is a technology company in Bengaluru that builds business software, including SalesDiary and Emmlyt.

This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website, appslab.in, why we collect it, how we look after it and what rights you have. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for this data: we decide how and why it is used.

This policy covers the website only. The SalesDiary and Emmlyt apps, and the work we do for customers under contract, are covered by their own terms.

What we collect

When you email us at one of the addresses under Get In Touch (sales@, marketing@ or hr@appslab.in), or call us, we receive what you choose to tell us. That is usually:

• your name
• your company name
• your email address
• your phone number
• your message, and anything you attach to it

We do not ask for sensitive information such as passwords, bank or card details, or health or biometric data. Please do not include it in your message.

When you visit the site, we also collect a small amount of technical information automatically. This is explained under Analytics and cookies and Server logs.

Why we use it

We use the details you send us for one purpose: to answer your enquiry. That means replying to you, understanding what you need, arranging a call or demo if you ask for one, and following up on the conversation you started. If you write to our HR team, we use what you send, such as your CV, only to answer you or to consider you for a role at Appobile Labs.

We rely on your consent. By writing to us, you agree to us using your details for this purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Your rights); this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

We do not use your details for anything else, such as marketing emails, without asking you first.

How your enquiry is handled

• Where it goes. Your email reaches the team you wrote to: sales@appslab.in and marketing@appslab.in for business enquiries, hr@appslab.in for HR and careers.
• Where it is kept. These mailboxes run on Google Workspace. Only the team members who handle each mailbox can open it.
• How long we keep it. We keep your enquiry for as long as we need it to respond and follow up. We review these mailboxes every six months and delete enquiries we no longer need, and in any case no later than 24 months after our last contact with you. If you become a customer, the records we keep from then on are covered by our agreement with you.
• Other systems. We do not use a customer relationship management (CRM) system for website enquiries today. If we start using one, we will update this policy to name it, what it stores and where, before we move any enquiries into it.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use our website, for example which pages are visited and how visitors find us, so that we can improve it. We have set it up to collect as little as possible:

• Google signals is off, so your visit is not linked to your Google account or combined across your devices.
• Ad personalisation is off, so analytics data is not used to show you ads.
• Google does not keep your IP address. Google uses it briefly to estimate your general location (such as city and country) and then discards it; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
• Data is kept for 14 months. After that, Google deletes the visit-level data linked to the analytics cookies. Reports made of totals, such as the number of visits in a month, do not identify anyone.

We do not use advertising or social media tracking cookies.

How to opt out. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works the same without them. You can also install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Server logs

Like most websites, our web server keeps a short record of each request it receives:

• your IP address
• the date and time
• the page or file requested
• your browser and device type

We use these logs only to keep the site secure and to fix problems. They are deleted automatically after 14 days.

We don’t sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers who handle data on our behalf. They may use it only to provide their service to us, and they are required to protect it.

• Google Workspace (Google): email, including the mailboxes that receive your enquiry.
• Google Analytics (Google): website analytics, as described above.
• E2E Networks Limited, our hosting provider in India: runs the web server and keeps the server logs.

We may also share personal data if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid order from a court or government authority.

Our website is hosted in India. Google may store and process data in other countries. Indian law allows this except to countries the Government of India restricts, and we will follow any such restriction.

How we protect your data

• The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
• Access to the enquiry mailboxes and to analytics is limited to the people who need it, and their accounts are protected with two-step verification.
• Access to our web server is restricted, the server is kept up to date, and its logs are deleted after 14 days.
• If a personal data breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.

No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps, appropriate to the data we hold, to protect it.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 with its rules on reasonable security practices and sensitive personal data (the SPDI Rules, 2011), you have the right to:

• Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you, how we use it, and who we have shared it with.
• Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete, and update it.
• Erase your data once it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it.
• Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. We will then stop using your data and delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
• Seek grievance redressal by contacting our Grievance Officer (below). If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
• Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to do so.

To use any of these rights, email info@appslab.in with the subject “Privacy request”. We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example by writing from the email address you used to contact us. There is no charge.

We will acknowledge your message and aim to resolve your grievance within one month of receiving it.

Children

Our website is meant for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, such as using your data for a new purpose, we will say so clearly on this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
